Hello Ahmed,
What is he make of your roof rack? Did you upgrade your shocks
when you changed the springs? Have you lifted the cruiser?

Hello Ahmed
Welcome to the list. Good to have a man down in Kenya!
Interesting that you have bf Goodrich AT tyres. How are they performing
for you? After much debate on this list and research I've decided to run
with Michelins XZL (mud terrain)
My plan is to reach Kenya from Sudan by 1st June 2008 leaving from
Ireland 1st April 2008. Hopefully the rains will be over by then.
Good luck
Niall

nial
i've run 750/16 (235/85/r16) xzl's on my truck in kenya for the last 3 years
(plus 1 in the uk) and they were absolutely bald by the time i'd finished,
however i thought they were brilliant - tough as old boots! during that time
i drove from durban to nairobi twice and bulawayo to nairobi twice. the
british army in kenya also run xzls on their landy's and then flog the part
worn ones to the kenyan army - i tried to get a few spares but failed so
make sure you take 2 spares - they are also very expensive and wear quite
quickly if unbalanced. this means that you must keep your wheels balanced
and redo tracking/alignment every so often otherwise you dramatically wear
one side/edge of a tyre and not the other. some one always seems to be able
to sort out laser tracking/alignment in most major cities in east and
southern africa maybe because their roads are so awfull!

Hi Jeremy
RE XZL's
Thanks for that info - interesting.
There was a few Landies in Afganistan on Panorama last nite with what
looked like XZL's
Couldn't quite make out what vehicle the Afgan Army were using - some
form of an Aussie style UTE
Cheers
Niall
