My new ones have arrived in the UK and are currently sitting on a van somewhere in the local area ready for delivery today .....

They did not get caught in customs ... mine have come from Taiwan ... just thought I'd let everyone know

Well they have arrived ..... but one has to go back as one of the main fitting brackets is broken ....

I have already sent the seller pics of the damage.

They feel ok quality wise ... it's a plastic lens though which may put people off.

For anybody wondering about import duties from outside the EU, this is a good starting point:

Keep in mind the friendly customs service add VAT and Import Duties to the total cost of parts + shipping + insurance + custom clearance charges. Can make a big difference to end cost.

I imported an ARB compressor from the USA and they stung me for £77. B*stards! All in though it ended up saving me about £30 against buying it in the UK

For now...maybe. I purchased 2 gauges from a diesel tuning shop in Canada a few years ago and made a good saving. Then, around 6 months later, I got a bill for ID and VAT from the shipping Co. (DHL) which I promptly binned. Two months later it's red letter time with a final bill or court proceedings and debt recovery measures will commence. Someone has to pay the dues at the point of import (in this case the UK shipping agent) or the goods won't be realeased.
