Hi All,
number 1 speed on my heater fan has ceased to function. All the others work fine.

Just wondered if anyone else has come accross this problem??

I had a Renault years ago with the same problem it was just a rheostat which was a quick and easy job. Don't want to start ripping things apart if it was a known problem with an easy fix that I could try first.

I had this problem about a year ago now. Under the dash passenger side is the fan housing . if you look to the right of the fan you should see a block connector going into the ducting. This is the rheostat for the fan. Undo the two screws and pull it out. You will probably need to buy a new one as they are sealed in resin. Toyota put them there to benefit from a cooling airflow when the fan operates. HTH

Thanks for that Steve, I wondered if it may be the same fault but thought I'd ask to save me time taking everything apart

Finally got round to replacing the rheostat for the heater fan.

Absolute doddle of a job. Remove the glovebox, which is only held in with 2 screws. 1 plug and 2 screws hold the rheostat in place.
1 screwdriver and 10 mins job done :icon-biggrin:
