Hi folks.
I'm Gareth from a sleepy little market town called Oswestry in Shropshire.
(Really, it's not as bad as "The Advertizer" would have you believe, GHB is really cheap for example.....)
I pilot a 94 80 series with 130,000 on the clock and I'm leaving the BEB's well alone.
Kidding, I've got a price for parts already
I'm a self employed engineer doing, well most things really. Currently working with a trust to restore a steam powered industrial monorail system, bet you didn't see that coming
But without access to a bankers bonus even engineers need help keeping these buses on the road.

I've spent years on and around farms where "off-road" was just called road but i'm turning 40 and it's time for some play time mixed with the work time hence the 80 series.
I don't have an awful lot of time for forum activity but i will try to put back more than i take

Welcome to the forum.

Steam power,sounds interesting.

Enjoy and hope you find here useful.

Karl

Welcome to the forum Gareth, you sound like the sort of person we like here

Welcom dear Gareth from a sleepy little market town called Oswestry in Shropshire.

Sounds like you will fit in quite well here.
Not sure we have any steam powered 80 series yet,
However with the price of diesel, I am sure some clever boffin is thinking about it again.

Keep well,

Gra.

Welcome

Given the amount of expansion you get when you create the environment for water to become steam, the use of steam in an 80 would be most interesting..... water vapour injection anyone...

It's definitely worth saying hello to newbies, thanks everyone.
