I was just looking through a load of pics from the Jap and Jeep Jam 2010 and I found these pics of a Landcruiser i was drooling over. I remember it being really tidy and well looked after

Does it belong to someone on here?

Where could I find a rear bumper like that one?

That rear bumper looks a bit like mine,

Poowithaview.jpg

but without the swing away wheel carrier. From 4x4 R-Us, can't find their website but the address is;
Unit 1
41 Millers Road
Warwick
CV34 5AE

I don't know why but I edited out the numberplate on the rear end picture in photobucket and it hasn't come through. Culd a mod please replace the image with this one. Cheers

Damn that didn't work either. The image on my photobucket account is edited but the one in here isn't

After a bit of digging it seems that 4x4Rus was bought out and moved to chesterfield. Then it went bust in Feb of this year.

I have looked on the frogisland4x4 site and they don't list LC parts. I will ring them for a quote.

They were still in business at the time of The British Indoor Show 2011, which I think was in March, Ben will remember he won an award for his truck, they weren't exhibiting but I was talking to the chap who made my rear bumper about doing something else for me.

It's fine - both edited out now. You would have been looking at a cached copy for a while which is why the edited might not have reflected.

Best of luck speaking to Frogs. I have tried in the past and it seems that speaking to customers is not one of the services that they seem to advertise nor specialise in.

Moved to Chesterfield? I must have missed that! No wonder they went bust. Hardly a massive place.

Hmm must be 2 companies called 4x4rus then as the the info I found said it was definitely Feb. Also there is someone on ebay selling parts calling themselves 4x4rus so could be the company has relaunched or someone trading off the back of a name.

Crispin I think it was more a photobucket issue as I cleared the cache and even checked on a second computer but was still seeing the full number plate...whatever it was its all sorted now so no matter

Yes Chris. The company called themselves "4x4Rus Warwick" but the address was Chesterfield :?

i am sure i remember someone getting a winch bumper made by 4x4rus and it wasnt very good
it could have been on "other forum" or hiluxsurf one though

Ahh, wonder if that was Chesterfield in Staffs. There are at least two. Actually maybe 3 in the UK. Plus a Chesterfeld I think.

I have nothing but praise for my bumper and the service I got from 4x4 R-Us, they reconfigured their design to incorporate a 2" receiver into the bumper instead of below at my request, and given the out of sight bracing they put in I think it would pull down a house. They also repaired a broken swivel pin (Broken when I took a dive over a sand dune and the forward motion threw the spare carrier forward) at no cost

ohh I remember that truck..
I had a good chat to the fella..
He is on iHmud.

Nice lad... he had some trouble with the car though..

Did you not mean THROUGH a house? I thought you'd already proven that??

run - duck - hide

What do we reckon for thickness for a rear bumper like that. 3mm or 4mm? 4mm would be good but pretty darn heavy. Given that the existing cross member would still be in there.

Chris

I would have thought 3mm with enough bracing was ok. I'm using 6mm for the centre of mine just because it will form part of the winch mount and the rest thinner I guess :)

3mm profile being pressed today and delivered tomorrow!!! Plenty of bracing and gussets etc going in.

Oh yes. That's the holidays sorted.

Chris
