Italian Alps 2017 - exploring Military fort trails

Nice thread Andy.

I drove the military road at the back of Sestriere last year, and I think we tried the Col de Assietta - if I recall there is a large lodge type bar restaraunt near the top, you then take a smaller track on up to the summit - bloody scary hairpins iirc, it was blocked with snow in June still.

Would be interested to know locations for the other military roads, can see this featuring again next year with our Expats group.
