LJ70 Build Thread!

Is that because they already have the roll-over bars Steve?

Nah he needs a proper ROP system like our friends Hi Lux has:

In the Turon River on our long journey around Sydney...

We had our 'Cruiser; used the HiLux for carrying gear, and the 'Cruiser 5 up!

Our 'Cruiser was on a 2" lift on 31" tyres, whilst the HiLux was pretty much stock, except for the ROPS bar on the tray. (and yes I was the only lad in the group; my other half is the hooligan hanging out of the HiLux window, whilst the owner of the HiLux is in our 'Cruiser!)

This gives you an idea of the back reinforcements on the ROP equipped tray:

You'd never guess the Hi Lux was an ex-mines truck...

Sorry for the pics... I WILL write the trip up into a report at somepoint (might do it tomorrow actually...)

Those tray backs look perfect for trips to the Offy - should be able to get at least 20cases of beer in there ....

We got a decent amount of empties in the tub of a friend's Rodeo ute after a 4 day music festival... never mind the full ones that came in in everyone else's vehicles!

Ben - have a safe flight and look forward to hearing news of Oz.:icon-cool:
Don't envy the flight though, having had 15hrs flights back from Texas on sunday/monday this week!

Ben, been off the site for a while, hope I'm not too late to which Bon Voyage or Drum Bun as they would say here!

Rather than the end of an era, I'd like to think it the beginning of a new one! Looking forward to "LJ70 OZBuild thread" from now on!

Good luck mate!

Shame, if you were going from down sarf, Heathrow or Gatwick I could have come to wave you off, so waving from here, Bon Voyage Ben.

All the very best, Ben - hope everything turns out perfectly for you, and it's all you hope it to be!

Looking forward to herring all about your exploits over there - and enjoy the sun shines when it stops raining!

All the best - and no, I'm not at all jealous!!

Awake at stupid o'clock again.

Morning Gra. :greetings-clapping:

Wonder if I might be able to sleep during the flights now seen as I got so little sleep last night.

Well here :sleeping-sleep: is hoping so.

Probably not so much a as sleep, but a series of "40 winks"

What is the schedule?

Manchester - Singapore - Melbourne?

Gra.

Hope so, feel far too excited atm to sleep!

Manchester-Paris

Paris-Guangzhou

Guangzhou-Melbourne. :icon-cool:

Might not be a normal flight path, but its still only 24 hours in the air, and was ridiculously cheap. Certainly the cheapest flight I've ever seen to Australia. :icon-biggrin:

I guess only time will tell whether its £500 cheaper than every other airline for a reason.
