Who knows if I can drive there? It's a rat-run through the houses which saves me around 20 minutes on my way home.

I previously got 6 fines through the post for driving down a recently-restricted rat-run without knowing they had change it. That though had clear signage.

Anyone know what a "Controlled zone" means? It's pretty ambiguous on the web.

I always thought that they were parking "controlled zones" and not for access....?? Westminister City Council must have something on their site about it, if so....as unless it is clearly signed, how on earth would you know?

After 6 fines i think i would email the council for a written response . Alternatively i think them signs are held with a couple of 12mm bolts

Yes, their website says parking . it's odd for all the warnings though - who does not know you'll have you first-born killed if you don't pay for parking?

Chance it? I have been but still paying off the last ones so a bit shy :(

It's Parking areas where you need to have a parking permit or a buy a ticket from a machine / internet / resident. If you are driving through that area you should be fine (as long as you don't drive past the no entry sign!!!)

Thanks - I'll do it some more when I need to :) Sometimes the traffic there takes your 20-40 minutes to go less than a mile. This rat-run is about 30 seconds :)
