quoted £660+vat + £100 fitting plus optional £80 extra depending on what manifold adapter he chooses
It's also in at pipwerx in lancashire this thursday for a full 3inch exhaust system
Julian, any impressions after the installation? Did they change fuel pump settings? Do you run a 3" exhaust?Julian T said:My 2 cents, Allisport, got theirs on my 80 and its been trouble free for going on 2 years now, and approx 10 thou miles.
You can get it as a fit yourself kit, or you can pay them to fit, mine cost £700.00 parts and labour.

Julian T said:... And yes the Pump was fettled to take advantage of the cooler charge air and assumed lower EGT due to inter cooler and free flow exhaust.
All in all Andrew was a very knowledgeable and friendly gent over the whole affair and the welding is a sight to behold

Thanks for sharing. I bought my 80 from a friend and she has Safari Intercooler installed but without any other changes applied to fuel pump or else. Based on my experience and comparing with other 80 series around me - i find no difference resulted from the Safari cooler. Safari basically denied on providing specs for the fuel pump adjustments... Now i am into the dilemma whether to play Gandalf the Grey and take wild guesses on how to adjust the system or just buy another/ different intercooler...
Towpack said:...If you intend to try adjusting the pump and boost yourself I'd recommend fitting EGT and Boost gauges which will take out all the guesswork.
Andrew Prince said:Yaro, you need to find a diesel pump specialist The Safari intercooler set-up is regarded as the best available for the 80 series without going for a highly customised option. I doubt you'll get a better alternative
