Mini under bonnet auto extinguiser

I just came across these:

Probably not large enough to make a big difference on their own but could be great for the first very valuable 30 seconds once a fire has started.

Great, but… as with Byron’s fire, unless the battery is disconnected with an electrical fire (which would be the most likely) then it will simply reignite.

Agreed vital seconds but for me not the whole solution. I do like the simplicity and the whole idea though, I have to say.

Interesting idea but I think I'd go with the tried and tested race systems like this

£200 is a pretty good price and represents a mere 1% of the cost of some overland builds

Definitely not suggested as a whole solution, it would also in theory act as an early warning though.

It does look like their campaign has hit a few stumbling blocks so it may never eventuate.

This pic says it all for me because the same principal is used on million pound boats , you just need some pipework so the extinguisher is directed at the flames without opening the bonnet .
