Newbie 80 owner from NSW OZ

Hi All,
Swapped my Husqvarna dirt bike for a 1995 80 series 4.5 6 cyl GXL to go play around in the bush.
Problem is it aint running yet previous owner had flat battery and tried to jump start but connected power and earth to wrong way around!! turns over but no start. Hoping to get answers from this forum what might be wrong.
Looking forward to using the beast real soon.

Thanks guys, 12v starting i guess as only one battery. Done lots of diagnosis and narrowing the problem down to a couple of things. Had it running briefly yesterday, finding time is hard at the moment as work is very busy but all is good so far. Pics to follow..... thanks

Hi Andy,
Welcome here! Hope you get your car running soon. I am also new to this forum. Got a vx80 2 weeks ago (1996). It is now at the garage for a check and renewal of lubricrants. Went there 2 days ago and found out the clutch plates were worn out and replaced. They still look at the free play of the steeringwheel. hope that that is easy adjustable as i heard that it can be very expensive to repair if worn out.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Narrowed down my non start problem to a burnt wire on the positive side and bad terminals of the fuel pump relay. Replaced wires and cleaned terminals inside relay and she starts and runs sweet.

Now the spending can begin ........
