Went with the Northants 4x4 Club to a play day site at Barnwell. I went last year and the site has been transformed with all the rain we've had. The River Nene borders the site and all low lying areas were a real quagmire. Getting stuck was all part of the fun, my 33's were no match for the Landies running 35's or 37's as I just sat on my axles.

Looks lovely Trev. You just need to get yourself down to Chesterfield this Friday for a weekend of camping and mud. You can get your shackle back as well!

Chris

that looks very erm........ muddy!

No weekend of fun for me Chris  I was allowed out on my last day of freedom before starting my new job, I'll have been past Chesterfield a few times by the end of the week as the office is in Sheffield.

Tony, it was slick to say the least, my muds are a bit pants. Silverstone MT's are on the wish list in 35's.

Too muddy for my liking,

I don't mind a mud bath, but it looks like there was no respite from it for you guys.
I have the same muddies as you, but 265 x 70 x R17.
They are good, but there no match for Simex or equiv.

great pics Trev.

any damage to the truck? :)

personally i wouldnt buy silverstones.

i sold mine as they wernt road legal, as they had no E markings, they wore very quickly, and new ones only measure 33.5", even though they say 35" on them.

roofrack is still missing a bracket. ;)

The only damage was ripping off the snorkel head in the wooded section, it's all smashed but can't find a replacement ironman other than Oz eBay grrr. I think the thermostat is on its way out too but I'll get another off Milners.

Good point on the Silverstones, I'm not changing the tyres too soon, maybe before Lincomb but playing catch up financially at the minute.

is it just the grill thats broken? :)

a branch broke my grill shortly after fitting my snorkel.

i fitted a black stainless one and havnt had a problem since.

i always reach out of my window and turn my snorkel head around when the lanes start getting a bit tight.

cant find any black ones on the bay:-

got mine from Billing LR show last year. IIRC it cost me £10.

It's the actual head that's knackered, I lost the grill at Lincomb. I'm guessing a Safari head might fit?

Hi Trev,

Did you get a replacement for your snorkel head?

Why go to Aus, when every one knows they are all made in China. :D

The round one is about £10
The black plastic is about £3

Plus postage

Take your pick from here.

Yeah, quite cheap.

I am pretty sure all the "genuine" Safari ones, are made over here also, and just shipped to AUS.

Probably made in the same factory !
