I received a text message today, purporting to come from Halifax (bank)

The message reads:

Confirmation: You set up a new recipient on 11/08 at 13:12:15 from account ending 0221. For queries please call 08456020000 or +441132798302 from abroad.

However I don't have any current or savings accounts with Halifax anymore.

Looking on the internet, seems to give problematic issues.

Who calls me

Since I don't have this account, I don't think I will be calling.

That 0845 number is gehuine (I thought it might have been a premium rate number scam) I looked up an alternative number using http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php and got a whole load of alternative numbers for Halifax and Bank of Scotland

Thanks Chas,
However as my Halifax account was closed some years ago, I hardly feel there is any money in there now.

I will send them an email.
