I took my rear diff actuator off today for a service and noticed what look like a silicone plug on the mounting surface. The plug looks like it is blocking a hole through to the body...should it be there or is it meant to be a breather as the silicone is tired and flaking out.

It’s the recess on the left at the top.

on further inspection and digging out the silicone it reveals an allen key plug which lines up with the end of the spindle from the motor body. Will just clean it and maybe undo and put a little lube on the threads and re-seal again.
