Rear Diff Lock

Hi all, am a newbie here....
Has anyone found a way round the dreaded rear lock actuator problem on the 80`s, my motor is shot and after numerous hours of searching cannot find a 2nd hand one, i know milner sells new ones but carnt justify £400....
Any help would be great...
