Romania 2015

Now, why did I imagine you'd be the first to respond Chas??

Even then, it took you all of 6 minutes, what kept you? :lol:

I've been watching War Games on the recorder just got back to the real world.

My truck is still is SA, and won't now be back before October, so I'm afraid it's a no for me.

i see we are losing a few

well i am in still in

book the return ticket on eurostar

the trailer is 50% done

just a few jobs on the L.R to do

We're still fully committed to this. Leave booked. Working toward vehicle being fully ready. Odd shakedown trip planned in it. Need to book tunnel and camp sites though. Still pondering thrash down to coast, cross and camp an hour down the road or get down to coast and park up to cross in the morning. Can't help feeling how I'd like to be South of the river by sundown on Friday.

Just as a matter of interest, a question for all you mapping buffs busy working out routes, my wife's boss regularly drives his greenish and ovalish thing backwards and forwards between Bucharest and the UK.

He has recommended for RO-UK (and reverse):

Bucharest;
Budapest;
Vienna;
Regensburg;
Mannheim;
Netz;
Reims;
Amiens;
Dieppe.

He recommends avoiding Paris (hence the small detour in the above) and for some reason the Dieppe-Newhaven channel crossing.

Does anyone live near Newhaven?

Any comments on the above? Printable comments of course...:lol:

Who is actually left in for sure on this trip? We have lost some people who have declared that publicly, but are there anymore who won't be coming who haven't actually said so? For me, going in convoy is part of it.

I am going to SA and then will have to much on selling up so will not mske it sorry.

At this rate we could end up with a convoy of two Chris.

We're still pondering but if we get down to Clive's gaff it will probably be independently as we'll be tying it in with our longer holiday trip...

Good to hear it RR, as for the tyres, obviously the ATs will give better economy, but the MUDs will offer more offroad capability....

Decisions, decisions :lol:

Sorry ratrace, can't place them. Interesting formations though.

Bran an on the pin top left, Sinaia mountain summit at 2,500 m centre right.

I'd like to explore the tracks between the two and I could imagine your photos from that region. I'll have a play on googlyearth, see if I can recognize anything.
