I will ask my neighbours, but you'd be surprised how little many of them travel. If there's no proper road there, they won't have been!
I wish I could gate crash this trip but having panicked back in December about not having any road trips lined up I've now got the Le Mans 24hr race, some form of European tour on my bike (a BMW R1200GS Adventure if you're into two wheels) and a firmly pencilled in trip to Morocco in April'16. I'd swap Le Mans for Romania any day but I'm already fully paid up.

Well, there's time to change your mind before August!
Le Mans is worth a trip though, I've never been but a mate of mine goes every year without fail... he loves it.
Well we have to lay our cards on the table here. it is still our intention to go, but we are re evaluating it as they say. With the Morocco trip in the diary, I have just enough leave to do both and have Christmas so there's no reason not to in that respect. I have the funds too and we'd love to see Romania. But one of the principal attractions was the thought of a majestic convoy of cruisers (and an Oval of course) sweeping down through the continent but so many have fallen away that it's not that much of a convoy anymore and that is our prime consideration for re planning. We could use a bit less leave giving me some more flexibility for the rest of the year and take the truck and family somewhere else either down into Europe like last year or go and do a trip around the UK to see the Northern Isles which I have always wanted to see more of. We could also do a shorter trip to Romania, but then it ends up being a dash down and then a dash back up which is just a driving slog.
So not out yet, but not currently booking ferries or camp sites. We are pretty disappointed at the thought of not going, so we'd like the numbers to pick up a little. In short we CAN still make the trip, it's whether we still WANT to. Hopefully that doesn't sound ungrateful but driving that far isn't something you undertake lightly and it's the family's annual holiday so it has to be right for them. I'm doing Morocco without them so I don't care how many go on that one.
If the youngest doesn't enjoy herself then I'll never hear the last of it.

I'm going even if i have to cancel my own funeral to get there . I can't offer much to the thread because planning is not really my thing and its good enough for me to have a destination , its a 2 day drive that might take me a week depending on what i encounter along the way .

I'm really sorry not to be going, but other than going to see Clive my primary drive was to be in a convoy of Cruisers from the forum. It's what tickled my fancy.
I hope everyone has a cracking time and we get loads of pics and stories.
We're now going to get the ferry down to Spain, across the Pyrenees and back up through Eastern France taking in Carcasonne, Lyon, Dijon etc and maybe over the border into Germany / Belgium.

Karl's making some big sacrifices of late
i wonder if he's saving for a new range rover 
I've been meaning to go through this thread with pen and paper in hand to note what we do know and what we don't , but then i found Ratrace had posted this which i had missed and i'm sure he mentioned earlier a very specific date and time he will be crossing through the tanel chunnel .
So the only questions i have are - do i need to book anything now ? and does anyone have any recommendations for breakdown cover ?
I use ADAC but so far the Lr has never need them, good news there is no age limit on the vehicle

Uk i use asda but with i the European cover as it will still cover vehicles over 10 years old
