Unbolted at the bottom , pulled out as much as i could and dumped them in a bucket of hot water on the seat . The soap and conditioner she puts in the washing machine turned the water filthy black . Dried out overnight and yeah a wee bit better but nothing to write about

Until i sprayed the belts with this
Flomasta Silicone Spray 200ml - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club]

And wow , not sure how long it will last but who cares for less than 6 quid . You will need 2 cans .
 
I used Silicone on my window rubbers, Worked Mint, For a while then after about a month they were back to normal, Never thought about using it on the seat belts, Good thinking, Il give it a bash
 
Yep directly on belts , i pulled the trim and put some on the retractor as well but i don't think it was necessary . No smell or colour and dries in minutes
