steering rack bushes

Has anyone changed them? Whats involved and what is the minimum that I will need to take off to do this job?, as its my daily driver and I don't really want to be out under the Collie in the cold ,dark and wet weather for any longer than I need to.

I've changed mine. It was a good few years ago so I dont exactly remember how, but it was a fairly easy job and I believe there wasn't much to it, than removing the rack which is easy accesible and changing the bushes.

Also, I have a pair of polyurethane steering rack bushes for sale. I bought a extra one when I went to the states. PM me if you're interested.

Note the comment about heating the new bushes in hot water (tea?) to make them pliable.
