Tailgate

I have just complete a road trip through the Gibb River Road, Tanami Desert, and Simpson - stunning country side. For some reason, I collected a lot of dust inside the rear tailgate. Any hints how to prevent this problem. Also, how do I remove the black plastic which holds the tool box?
