Test drove BMW X5

I went to view a BMW X5 tonight.

Nice car, it was the 35d 280 odd BHP twin turbo version. plenty off power. and lots of toys but if im honest i prefer the drive of my Landcruiser. so for now the LC's safe.

Oddly enough the red one is the clear winner for me if only because i guess the designers must be old enough to remember what a 4x4 is supposed to be .

I do like the look of the X5 and the Toerag

I did look at an X5 while looking for another vehicle, but decided it was too good a motor to use for work, plus it wouldn't cut the mustard if and when I went off road

I like the X5 but would have to be a M50D or X5M wouldn't swap the 80 for one though.

Yeah if i could afford the x5 50d i would have one.

The one i test drove, as far as i could see didnt have dynamic drive, it had 21" alloys and the standard Run flat tyres. i felt like i was driving along in my lowered rs turbo. i felt every lump and bump going. i got back in the 120 and felt like i was gliding along on my magic carpet again.

Thinking of replacing our 2009 Subaru Forester XT with an X1 20d or 25d.
Won't be as fast as the scooby though

No sure yet, depends on advantages/disadvantages of newer vs older and prices
