So has summer 2012 really been one of the wettest in recent years, or are we forgetting how it must have rained in previous summers?

From reading the forum here, and looking UK weather, I don't know how different it has really been in comparison.

Somebody once said Great Britain doesn't have a climate, it just has weather.

seems pretty normal to me, why else would package holidays to warm and sunny places be so popular in the summer!

seems pretty normal to me.

Up here in Central Scotland we have had endless rain since end-March. I have only managed to mow my lawns twice and have had to use a strimmer on them the rest of the time. A low part of the garden has been flooded most of the year as a field drain has burst :icon-rolleyes:

Certainly wetter than usual this year - even for Scotland.

Bob.

I think June was a bit wet but we had plenty of dry weather before that. The last 3 weeks have been dry, sunny and warm most days, not bad for September. I have to work on my truck outside and almost always dodge the weather rather than go to the trouble of putting up a tarp. I got quite a bit done from mid April to mid August so it can't have been that bad! If we have more than 4 weeks of dry weather we start getting drought warnings!

Crumbs you poor things! Its raining here for almost the first time since June. Every where is brown and dusty. I have not cut any grass for 6 weeks (even then it was just weeds) thats what I do for a living, as well as swimming pools and holiday home stuff. Still, it will grow like a bu**er now!

Shushhhhh,

Steve,

We can't say that sort of thing,
if I tell them I am still wearing shorts and teeshirts, from March to now, it doesn't go down too well.
Mind you, today was a bit cooler, it was only 25 today.

Tomorrow should be better.
