I was speaking to Clyde Tait at http://www.bushlore.com about their current 4wd rentals in Southern Africa. They are really getting a good reputation for great rentals and good service. The even have a model where you can sort of lease a truck from them and they buy it back.
Anyway he mentioned he has a couple of client in the UK who Bushlore babysits their trucks for them. The are stored outdoor but in 24-hour security and battery charging etc can be arranged. The rates were very reasonable as well. Anyway I got me thinking and I wanted to ask the South Africans on the forum if there are other companies who do this in Southern Africa. What about indoors storage? What is the deal with UK registered trucks in long-term storage. Could they be left there long-term or would they need SA plates? If left there a long time how do you sort an MOT when re-registering? Are Botswana/Namibia very different when looking at this?
