Wheel spacers bring your wheels out and make the truck have a wider stance. Looks cool and can improve clearance on body and in some cases improve handling. However you don't want them sticking out too much as you may have trouble when MOT comes around. Alternatively lower offset wheels will do the same job.

Steel wheels with a minus 30 offset might actually be cheaper than spacers unless you have alloys and want to keep them .

I have 285/75/16s on my 80 and I run spacers. So do quite a few others.

One thing I would say is DONT buy cheap spacers and be aware to check your wheels bearings quite often.
