Last Monday evening I took part in my archery clubs Indoor Archery Championship shoot,

and came third, but tonight I was told there had been a miscalculation in the scoring and I hadn't come third, I had actually come

FIRST , but only by two points, but still first, another trophy for SWMBO to dust.

A win is a win Chas and second is the first of the losers!

Well done.

Actually we do have a doubles darts match once a year, just for a bit of fun, with bows of course and dartboards a bit bigger, shot from about 20ft IIRC, my partner and I won that in Jan 2011  , on one end I actually scored 180 8-) . I was lucky there in getting probably the best archer in our club as a partner, I have improved a lot since then. I think that 180 was a fluke

And we shoot skittles. We used to do it with handguns. I still hold the Club record at 5.25 seconds to clear all 5 skittles from the table at 20m. Now we use rifles, but at a slightly longer distance when we can. Amazing how far a .44 from a Desert Eagle can throw a skittle. 9mm just goes straight through them. Useless.

Sounds like more fun than bows and arrows :o

I see a Lincomb challenge in the making, Landcruiser drive by shooting

My bow is not that powerful so I usually can only shoot shorter distances with any accuracy, last Saturday though I thought I'd give our long range a try, first time at 70m and bugger me I broke our club record for barebow.

Hey well done. Archery has always held an appeal for me that shooting doesn't for some reason.
