Thanks for all the info on winch fitting, all I need now is a diagram of the best way to fit the winch/battery isolater switch. It should be Simple

Cheers John

It is. It goes between the winch and the battery. Doesn't get more simples than that. Wiring diagram not really required.

Handy if you can crimp lug terminals to be fair. Makes the process a bit tidier. I cut the red cable, put new lugs on with the switch mounted on the bumper where it's easy to get to. I shortened the cable too, to suit.

Hi Guys,

We've taken the winch switch to a new level.

Engineering and over-engineering seems to be our forte.

We've installed a 3-way marine switch.

It works by wiring the main battery and leisure battery into the marine switch as well as the winch.

The marine switch has a big dail on it with 4 positions.

Position 1 = main battery
Position 2 = leisure battery
Position 3 = both (1+2 in paralel)
Position 4 = Off

This enable you to choose what you want to use with the winch.

If the engine is running use Pos 1
If the engine is off use Pos 2 :?
If you are really in the SH*T use 3
If your not using it it remains on Pos 4

If anyone wants a picture please drop me a line.

Hope this helps

Andre

This is solely for the winch
