Would you surrender?

There's absolutely naff all we can do about it so stop worryin' and get on with your day. I'm far more concerned why the poxy HRW has packed up on the LC. At least the sun is shining so a good day for odd jobs.

You're probably right. :icon-wink:

Fingers in ears or head in sand? Which option is better?

I didn't know much about Ukraine, other than it was big, next to Russia and Chernobyl was there.

Apparently....
there you go.

back in the day, ukraine was called the bread basket of the soviet union. the landscape is for the most part flat, and very fertile soil.
russia doesnt actually need there natural resources, they have plenty of there own.

we, on the other hand do.

@frank rabbets ... unfortunately Frank your words are spot on!
Putin is an absolute madman, missing his time in the KGB, dilliusionsal in both his role and Russia's position in the world!
He's playing a seriously deadly game of 'call my bluff' with nuclear deployment!
I think most nations, being wary of what a headcase Putin is, are actually worried about how to deal with him!!
Delusional hideous dictators.... between the eyes!

Seen some guy on the news today , subtitled silence but Ukrainian obviously discussing Putin must be shocked at the resistance . I wasn't really watching it but i did note a very specific reference to anti tank and aircraft equipment supplied by Britain ......... and other countries .

I'd bet the SAS delivered them .

Good point that Shayne. Personally I've never understood why we train other countries troops/ pilots etc, and supply them with gear, only for them to use it against us !.

I used to read a lot about the SAS when i was a teen and while we all sort of think of them as in front of the front line commandos I'm also inclined to think they act as a mobile high command , a planning committee if you like . Experts at maximum effect from minimal equipment and nobody knows where they go .

As a youngster I always fancied myself as a survivor in difficult circumstances, out there in the jungle or desert you know, living off the land, perhaps eating the odd bug or two so, I bought the small version of the SAS survival book........as you do. The only problem is it did not come with a magnifying glass to read it!! The font is so small that even if you had good eyes you cannot make head nor tail of it! I threw it in the cupboard and popped down the fish and chips shop! :)

Dave

If they could stand just off the road and pick off all the vehicles with those hand held missiles the Russian army would have to walk all the way. Why don't they cover the roads with giant tin tacks. All the long range vehicles have tyres. Why doesn't a country arm themselves with pop up stingers built into the roads. If a couple of leading trucks stop it tends to stop the whole convoy. Then use flamethrowers on the tail .

Neil Oliver is a Historian who appears on TV regularly - often with a Scottish Historical context. He is good at getting to the root of issues and explaining cause and effect in a logical manner.

Its the first time I've seen him looking like Rasputin !

I wouldn't try to pigeon-hole him.

Bob.

Yep! He's a Clever Bloke Very good Military/War Historian Too....Iv always watched His stuff, Great delivery.....Kind of bloke who would like to Swear a lot if he wasn't tied to main stream 'Telly'....

The sanctions against the Russian central bank will kick in tomorrow - will be interesting to see the impact. Probably more than people might first imagine...

Putin must have his personal security people to make sure his visitors don't get near him with a gun. It's my bet that one of them will bump him off. He must be hated in Russia now.

10 million and the equivalent of diplomatic immunity in a country of your choosing for you and your family .

ears or head in sand? Which option is better?
This is best option. Switch off news, as we as common citizens can’t make any difference to what’s happening on the ground far away from us or have any impact on what Bojo or Biden does. Millions of common citizens protested against war but Blair n Bush decided n went for it but bill is handed to us. It’s all govt spend n common citizens pay for it
