Truck for sale, 1993 HDJ-81 with some bits...

I'm selling my truck which I've had since 2004. Its an HDJ-81, 180k on the clock, lifted slightly courtesy of OME shocks and springs, ARB front end with IPF spots, HID headlamps which make the spots redundant in many ways, Patriot rack and Eeziawn awning, South African all cotton seat covers...

    Torque converter NOT locking up...

Hi there Just wondered if anyone had experience of a torque converter on an 80 series not locking up. Julian V has replaced the lock up solenoid valve which seemed to do the trick but now its not locking up... although it did twice on a drive home tonight. It seems on overrun, foot of the gas...

spring loaded, moveable cargo tie downs/eyes

Anyone know where I can find some spring loaded moveable anchor points to run ratchet straps through. Theyre from SA i think, a big round eye sitting on a spring loaded catch system that slots into a rail... Can't seem to find 'em. Thanks Jeremy

    Headlamp bulb replacement...

I want to replace my headlight bulbs and probably the inner driving type lamps as they've been in the car for ages now. On the drivers side the coolant expansion tank sits right behind the access to the back of the lamp.... is this simply clipped on or is there a trick to removing it so i can...

    torque converter lock-up

Hello all Small thing seems to have happened since I last drove my truck... its a 93 import with auto box, o-drive switch and normally locks the torque converter above a vertain speed. The lock-up seems to have stopped working, the box behaves like a good old fashioned slush-box at speed. I'm...

Drive belts + alternator retaining bolt question

Strange noises from the front yesterday so after a quick look saw that all 3 drive belts were slack and needed replacing. As I had a set of new belts I decided to get on and do it today. Wish I'd done it in the summer...All went well if a little slowly as it was cold working on the streets where...

    Overland Cruisers -there's only one!

Seems strange that no-one has yet endorsed the wonderful Overland Cruisers and Julian Voelcker. I do as much of my truck myself if I can but living in London it's often hard to get the heavy lump safely off the ground on a sloping street with camber so for a few years now I head off to Julian's...

It follows the life so far of the Royal Navy's latest destroyer, HMs Daring one of 6 Type 45 destroyers, from first cut of steel to launch and then sea...

Sorry, I don't understand why only administrators are the only ones able to advertise...? I see why you don't want the forum swamped, but this seems a little Orwellian to me. Just a thought. Jeremy
