I have a friend coming over to take the sump off his 12 valve 80. How much of a job is it with engine sump being 10/10?

I shall be advising with no physical input.

Thanks

Just undo the all the bolts and break the sealant and it should come of

I assume 3/10 then ? I assume there is no gasket and silicone sealer will be OK ?
Thanks

Hey Frank,
I'm about to do the same job on my 80. I watched a youtube that made it look easy. I got a transmission filter and gasket for approx. $120 NZD so probably about 65 pounds. The gasket is cork, so they recommended no silly cones required. I was trying to find the torque setting for the bolts when it's done. If anyone can help?

My 12v 80 had no sump gasket, just sealant & when I first had it off years ago I don’t think it had been off from factory.
Easy job

I am a 'belts and braces' kind of guy, check with the FSM, and then use RTV sealant anyway. :icon-biggrin:

Regards

Dave.
