Hi,

Back again, I have just had the injectors done on my Landcruiser 2005 with 305kms on the clock and now I find that it is leaking diesel and oil? Do I need to replace my turbo and has anyone any idea of how much this is going to set me back.

Thanks

Hi Bruno,
Sorry to hear of your woes. Can you be a bit more specific about your leaks as it's [strike:1rwysbq8]difficult[/strike:1rwysbq8] impossible for us to attempt a diagnosis or offer suggestions on a description of "I have a leak".
Some of the obvious questions to answer:
- Where is the diesel leaking from?
- How do you know it's diesel (i.e. are you sure it's diesel leaking)?
- Where is the oil leak? How bad is it (weeping or pouring out?)
- Apart from your injectors being "done", what other work has been done on your LC recently (often work on the truck causes unintended new problems, so a good place to start with the trouble-shooting)
- what is the service history before and since you've owned it?

To answer your question on the turbo replacement cost, the short answer is "a lot". The amount depends on whether you go to Toyota for a new unit and have them fit it or source a refurbed unit at the other extreme. Or go to a turbo specialist and get them to diagnose what needs doing. But first you need to diagnose your problems - buying a new turbo is an expensive way to rule that out of the equation ;)
