Hello,

I travel a lot and I would like to "invest" in a 4x4 Land Cruiser to go everywhere, especially off-road, what I can do for the moment with my little car. Having limited financial means, I naturally head for second-hand. It is easily found with cars that are over 200 000 km. .I found an old discussion about a landcruiser forum that goes beyond a million kilometers and a lot more than 400 000 km. I open this discussion to ask you what your model of land cruiser and how many kilometers you have with it.

In addition to the survey, can you write a message to indicate your exact model, gearbox and mileage.

thank you !

Hi Jonathan. My Cruiser is a 1998 Colorado GX 3.0 KZTE turbo diesel with an auto gearbox. Just clocked 255,000 miles (410,000 kms). All original engine and box apart from cylinder head.

Had a j reg 80 series manual 4.2 rd ten years ago with 388 000 miles on it 10 years ago. Exported it when the clutch went. Original engine and box had turbo pump and injectors done at 280000. Worked it to death. Still drove to the export yard and would have gone on with a new clutch.

302K km on my 100 series, runs like new. (auto)
290K km on my 80 series , runs like new ( auto)
460K km on my old 60 series ( now sold) runs like new (manual)

you get the pic?

Had seen a 120 series with knackered injector seals at about 60 000 miles on it and a kzj71 with a knackered cylinder head at 230 000km..

How ever got an 80 series and it's a complete diamond!!

Go for one of those as the other ones above are a bit sketchy! :laughing-rolling:

My Colorado had 285,000 on the clock when i sold it last year... Vastly underrated Truck.. Big mistake selling it. Present 120 LC5 got 196,000 on the clock. Runs like a dream...( Cant give it away)

1995 landcruiser 80 HD-FT manual, 200.000 miles.
Every button works. a little rust in the wing but nothing serious.

120. 180000 miles. 5 speed auto. New injectors at 120000 miles. Few sets of suspension bushes. Rust is the biggest problem.
Oh yeah I heard the problem of injectors on this model before the 200 000 km. It was fixed by Toyota from the 2014 model

Thank you who has already answered. I would recap in several weeks of all the answers.

Injector seats are the problem on the 2004-2007 models. Common rail injectors wear out on all cars as far as I know.

got 2009 120 Prado, 307k km . Bought it second hand at 287k km From the service history I only saw all the wheel bearings replaced at around 270 k km. When I bought it at the drive test the AC was not working, seized clutch, probably because it was sitting in the lot for a long time. Replaced by the dealer with new Denso unit.
Late models had no issue with the injectors. All electrics works, the air suspension is a dream, ( original airbags and shocks ) .
I have taken it recently to a Toyota dealer before a trip for a health check, they replaced a nut on one of the wheels, 5 euro bill :)

1998 100 Series 1HD-FTE auto. Just gone over 300,000 kms with no major work done to it. Used and enjoyed daily.

What do you mean ?
He means with those mileage’s longevity is not an issue. These trucks are renowned for their reliability, especially the older mechanical ones, the 80 series being the pinnacle. That said, as the post shows, others do the miles.

Mines a 1992 80 series manual gearbox.
360,000 miles and still my daily drive, works for a living towing. Injectors and pump refurbed around 300.000 As was feeling a bit lethargic.

Cheers, Mark

1998 1KZ TE 95
About 230000 miles , plenty of things replaced as they've worn out.auto box & engine still going strong
