My 90 camper project is nearly done.

The bed is 1.85 x 1.30 with a foam mattress that is in 2 pieces for use outside as comfortable seats, after they have been folded in 3.

I've cut screens that fit into all windows and block out light and heat, except the front 2, which have mosquito nets.

Under the floor I've got space for a big box with dry food, plates, glasses, salt pepper etc. Gas BBQ 55cm x 40, 12kg gas bottle, 2 cool boxes, 2 camping chairs, 2 parasols, snorkeling gear, tool box, 30l of fresh water.

I have a 15w solar panel to trickle charge main battery, this will be swapped to a second deep cycle battery with split charger. This will run lights, phone chargers and the shower. The shower is a plug in unit, mostly just to wash off salt and sand before sleeping.

This is not a camper for cold weather, it's intended for use by me and my girlfriend for 6 months a year in Spain, from March/April until September/October. 99% of the time we will be outside, it's purely a place to sleep.
There are a lot of places where camping is prohibited, but there are no rules against sleeping in your car. It only becomes camping if stabilisers are down, awnings out etc...

Will post more photos after the weekend.

Sounds interesting, looking forward to the photos

My 95 was great to sleep in just remember 3 things be aware the rear door does not have a inside handle which is not nice to find out while pissed as a fart.

Shut the sun roof before getting drunk and passing out as you get very wet.

Don't sit up with a joult as you will smash your head.

I asked about the rear handle a little while ago. Parts are listed but haven't found anywhere that has them in stock.
Think will just take rear door card off and see if I can cobble something together.

If it was me I would just drill a small hole in the door card and attach a cable tie.

I would email Simon Holton for a price if Toyota actually sell the genuine kit , you can always decline . I did this while looking for seatbelts expecting Toyota to charge like a million pounds but to my surprise the price was actually very reasonable perhaps because it was a safety issue and therefore exempt from the usual profiteering ?

Making internal locks on all doors including the boot a legal requirement on manufacturers has been discussed at length in gov if it hasn't already been made law so worth a call or email at least .

This was just a test run, next time we will go somewhere a bit more remote.

Great looking BBQ. Even better that is seems to run off a beer keg!

Nice where you based as it looks better then the uk

In Spain, near Malaga.
A gas BBQ is work of the devil, but a necessary evil, as you can't light a fire on the beach and not allowed fires in any of the national parks

Spend 100+k on a fancy camper and it will come with a gas bottle because its the best mobile solution available . I'm surprised you don't seem to have a roof rack .

I'd argue the flame on the gas burner is a fire too!

But, nice truck.

It´s on the list, but want new tyres first!
