i Rekon a tray back is the way to go if you are having rust issues on the rear body mounts. Chop it off and make something new and better.

I'd love to tray back LJ and probably will eventually. But as Andy said, no good for camping trips.

Half doors could be cool aswell.

I will try and get this thread updated ASAP, just got 180 pics to sort through and upload first. Still got loads of work to do before this weekends trip.
Its looking like I might not be able to camp Friday night with the rest of the guys as I might still be putting LJ back together. So might have to leave early Saturday morning instead.

I'm also super busy trying to sort TAFE (technical college) out.

Its looking like I'm going to do an apprenticeship in metal fabrication and welding.

Mmmm... liking the half doors idea Needs to be a rag top to fully appreciate it though (have I guessed it?)

I chopped the hinges on my old SJ, one of the best mods it got I reckon

Good to hear about your apprenticeship, if things fall into place like you say with the mines (and I'm sure they will) you'll be set up for life!

No update tonight I'm afraid guys.

Got home from work at 4pm and worked all the way through till 11pm on LJ. I'm getting there but still got lots to do before this weekends High Country trip.

My Gym days are over sadly, or thankfully, 05:30?? The birds don't wake that early round here!!

By the way, I can't wait to find out what you've been up to with the angle grinder, the suspense is killing me!!

I feel like that every time I go.

I need to stick at it though. I'm not prepared to let myself become over weight, and if I'm going to keep eating and drinking like I do then I need to put the hours in at the gym.

No but I would love a soft top.

I might buy a new body for LJ one day.

If the body gets much more abused which I feel it will, and I don't end up turning it into a comp truck then I may re-shell it. Id love to tray back it, but as Andy mentioned its not as practical for camping.

Should be able to find a nice clean rust free body over here.

Id quite like a slightly longer wheel base though as it would be a lot more stable on extreme terrain. Maybe a BJ73/74, but on coils.

Depending on how tonight goes I might be able to get an update up.

The longer I leave it and the more work I do the longer its going to take to update. Already up to over 200 pics.
