Been to Thassos. Very nice. Love Greece. Been there more times than anywhere else outside of the UK. Mostly hols but have worked in Athens briefly. Actually fancied driving back up through Greece when I was coming on the Romania trip.

Been on the island twice last year.Love going to Greece too. Should you decide to go after Romania let me know. I'll meet you somewhere and get into Greece offroad through Rodopi mountains. Then a short ride towards mount Olympus...Metheora monasteries....plenty to see in a short distance.

Nope sorry that plan is well and truly dead and buried. Might get a week in Devon though. Missus doesn't seem bothered about doing anything and me with all this extra leave! I'm not going to waste it that's for sure. Wouldn't mind a trip up to Shetland or something.

I've just started a new job so all my annual leave is being used for Morocco, no more days off unless I'm "ill" :) Plus I work away from home during the week so don't get any midweek tinkering time

Still the summer will fly past. My other hobby car from the 95 is a 1992 Escort with a Focus RS Engine I use for track days. Broke it last weekend at Castle Combe so my summer will be like this

Fix Broken Bit
Fit race spec coil overs
Full Valet of car, wash, clay, polish and wax
MOT Car
Retro & Classics Track Day at Castle Combe June
RSCombe Track Day and Show July
Service Truck
Fit new suspension bushes to rear lower suspension arms
Worry about random noises from the truck being a serious mechanical issues for Morocco
MOT Truck
Full Valet of Truck, wash, clay, polish and wax etc
Autumn Performance Car Track Day at Castle Combe
Pack Truck for trip
Worry some more about random noises
Catch Ferry :)

and breath.......................

Same here Mark. Almost an exact copy of my summer I think.

!. Load booze
2. Catch ferry
3. Find out exactly what those random noises on your truck were ....

After my slight panic with last years trip an my rear diff I'm overly sensitized to any slight noise, it's silly the whole thing was rebuilt new bearing, crown and pinion but the truck still has slight whine at certain speeds and I'm always thinking is that bad or ok. Its probably just standard noise levels but the voices in my head tell me bad things (no I am sane honest)

Probably doesn't help that I don't drive it much  Did 500 miles in it over easter and it was fine, I'll try to force my self to drive it more instead of the boring work focus.

Mark, as long as there is oil in there and the casing only feels warm after driving I wouldn't think you have anything to worry about. I had a terrible front diff whine but when pulled and checked it really was only a question of minor adjustment. As long as it's well lubricated and not making grinding noises it'll probably go around the world another 10 times.

We won't leave you if you break down. We haven't a clue where we're going. Plus it's always entertaining to watch someone else struggle.

Trust me I have my own noises to deal with. I drive the green one and think 'Ahhhh'. I drive the silver one and think 'She'll noo take anymoor Captain..'

One thing about Toyotas - they break but they wont stop! It'll take you back home no matter where you are! I had Hilux(Vigo) 2008 and broke the rear diff in the midlle of nowhere in north Caucasus up in the mountains in Republic of Adigea (Russia).I cant describe the noise between broken diff, mud tires and squeaking rear left bearing and few more noises...5000km later I park infront of my house. And thats not the end of the story...2 weeks later I went with that truck all the way to the Giza pyramids in Egypt and the Hilux took me there and back home again. I had the chance to change the rear wheel bearing before leaving to the middle east (Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Izrael, Egypt...)....And thats not all:icon-biggrin: I was with five guys riding motorbikes. One broke down ( I'll use the word "broke") in Gaza strip and we put it on the truck and drove with it a few thousand kms:)....

It's just paranoia lol it got really bad in 2013 so loud you couldn't hear the stereo. Got it rebuilt last year but they didn't spot the worn gears. The guys sourced and redid the parts to get me on the road for the trip.

I know how loud a bad one is and it'll still get me home [emoji3]
