My overland camper trailer

Your on the ball there Rich mine is slightly bent , i had thought it might have been the result of my own accident but now you say that i am inclined to think Rambo did it because the direction of the bend fits with jacknife . The bend must have been preventing it from returning but it was exceptional circumstances that pushed the ram to the stop , circumstances i sincerely hope only happen once in a lifetime .

While i thanked Rich (Starcruiser) for the Landrover to Toyota wheel adapters i never did get around to posting pics of his work . Now he sent me 15 pictures detailing the process including thread lock application and torquing of studs and to post them all would be worthy of a separate thread so spoilt for choice i have chosen just one .

Sorry spent an hour trying to get photo's out of my email and can't :angry-screaming: don't you just love technology because i want to do it i'm not allowed , however without being given an option Picasa did spend 15 minutes zooming in on a tiny area much larger photos to produce 3 facial closeups of Ram then demanding i name him ?

Very strange there are other faces on the Romania trip photos in my com but only Ram triggered this completely unwanted feature .

Please don't offer instructions i am very familiar with the usual process of moving email attachments

It seems Shayne was so pleased (they didn't fall off!) that he again asked me to draw up and have made a socket for the wheel bearing nuts.

So, this morning I picked up the result, and Shayne suggested I post a pic on here.

Rich what do you do for a living? I'd love to be able to do stuff like that.

I'm a sparks Karl. [emoji4] Alas I cannot claim to have done this but it is from one of my customers who is a precision engineers. In fact the Guv'nor is a pal of mine who builds and runs Mk2 Escort rally cars.

I can however say that I did the drawings on my CAD. [emoji51]

That is most probably CNC machined whereas the spacers where a manual turning job. The socket is 316 stainless steel as per Shayne's exacting specification. [emoji6]

you won't want to use that Shayne. Shame to get it dirty  think I'd just leave it on the work tops in the kitchen so I could admire it then use a chisel to do the nuts up with

Thats is great thanks for the picture. It's what I thought when I worked it out. Nice to double check. Now for the price please as I may be interested in a set.

I really cannot remember what I charged Shayne but it was club rates if you like. I think Shayne paid £200 or so for a set that didn't work prior to asking me as the studs clashed. These have to be fitted to the hub, and the price was for the whole set up, studs, bolts, fitting, the lot.

Let me know what you need Stu and I can price for you. Is it for the same trailer? Same offset etc?

Yeah I am pretty sure they are the same whith. I know they are the same.stud patterns and drums.

The ebay seller who made the first set chose to pretend one stud didn't exist at all , i could have used them but setting off on a 5000 mile round trip the missing stud was i doubt i didn't need .

Truly a thing of beauty, the toolbox is no place for that!

Stainless because it will live in the trailers cutlery drawer , until i get fed up of it and then it will be fastened on the outside somewhere to rust . Missed the postman today so i will have to take me passport to the sorting office and explain to the local little hitler that i want to collect the parcel attached to this note from the house i just burgled :wtf:

Try and avoid clicking your heals together and giving the Nazi salute as they get easily offended by things like that Shayne. [emoji6]

You may find unless the cutlery drawer is nice 'n' sturdy, it may either find its way through the base (over bumps) or the front (with sudden stops!), oh and you'd have to go some to rust it as its 316 stainless. [emoji6][emoji4]

A few quid more for stainless and its maintenance free despite being exposed to the elements forever :icon-cool:
