These are the best selection of maps - just need to know where about's the planned route is and then get the maps - you could if you wanted do a large flat bed scan of a map then geo ref yourself... would be a 'bit of work' but a nice thing to have.. some of the hiking maps are very detailed... just depends if the location is right.

Trouble is, most of it went over my head until PUBS were mentioned
Actually there are no pubs, but there are bars, so if you like beer, there's good beer here. It's lightish, lagerish, and theres a few darks to choose from. Otherwise there's always Vodka and home brew tuica which is a clear plumb brandy around 40 percent

It's scary, the locals drink it like water
My mother-in-law has her own still and she's very good at making the stuff! 
As as I keep telling the wife, talking about it can be better than the real thing.....

Do you really want to do that much towing??
I do lots of towing and every time I take the trailer off I always go ahhhh! What a relief.
What are you going to put in it you can't put in/on the LC?
Plus Romania is full of lovely cheap cabanas in the areas the lads are talking about. And they all do nice simple food, so if your looking for a bit of comfort just stay in them and save the hardship of the trailer!

it depends how long u are taking to there and back
Me, it will be 3 nights and 4 days of driving so will use two overnight tents only as clivehorridge will kindly put us while we are there The problem with the trailer i think might be the extra cost of fuel also u will have to get tax for the trailer as u drive in different counties

A trailer tent is what i'm thinking of and they weigh next to nothing so i imagine i would likely forget its behind me . I had one years ago and the level of comfort is leaps and bounds beyond anything a tent can offer . I would be happy to just sleep in the truck wash in a river and grab food at roadside cafes and i'm sure Helen would do the same if i asked her to but i want her to enjoy the trip rather than endure it .
