Seat heater electricals

My driver's side seat heater is - I think - misbehaving. Bad news in
this weather!
On "hi" I get the orange light on the switch and a warm back, but no
longer a warm bum.
On "lo" both green (low) and orange (high) lights appear to be on.
So it suggests either a wiring / switch problem, or maybe a heating
element has died.
Before I start taking it apart does anyone have any suggestions or
experience?

They are the sort of thing I classified as "only for p****ers with more
money than sense" while driving all my previous cars, but I admit to
being really pleased to have them now. I still think a heated steering
wheel (a la Range Rover) is OTT though ...
