Transfer Box

I am looking to buy Colorado and have found a 2002 on a 51 plate. Just spoken to the dealer who has said it only came in a few days ago but they heard strange noise which has just been diagnosed as a faulty transfer box. Haven't heard of this problem before.....should I be concerned and just walk away ????

HI ive just repared mv red car after giving it a very hard day offroading ,came home clanking and banging two of my best buds and myself were convinced that the transfer box was fuc**d turns out it was the front diff -so it may not be the t box, either way if you get it cheep enough go for it
