Hmm as a suggestion I would consider moving from London to Australia as
there is very little rain :)
But seriously I had a very small leak above the passenger seat caused by
the rubber seal being broken , dry.
Fixed it by resealing the of the top of the windscreen with a fine layer
of silicon rubber

One thread I remember from the 80sCool list on this subject said DON'T
use the standard (eg for bathrooms) Silicone sealing compounds, as they
produce acetic acid when they cure - hence the smell of vinegar ... and
rust in the medium term.
You can get special sealants for cars that don't produce acid when they
cure.
