Remember . . . .

If you can't lock the diff, then lock one hub.

Rotate the input flange a good number of times and count the number of hub rotations.

Then divide the hub rotations by 2 before calculating the input to output ratio.

If you can lock the diff, then both hubs will be turning together (= turns of the crownwheel) so no division is necessary before calculating the ratio.

You won't get a true figure with an open diff and both hubs free to move :naughty:
