Who is doing what maintenance today?

We dont worry about that on this forum

16 years of total reliability with only one failed MOT ( broken rear spring) 70 mpg very cheap tax and insurance, it was a car worth considering. I'll bet there isn't an 02 Cruiser as good underneath as that was. It was only sold as Maria wanted to change to an auto.

I'm sure it was a good car, just my sense of humour mate

Extending and moving the diff lever was more fun because it’s too short for the weld process I used on the gearstick but I was happy to find suitable steel in my junk pile

I was still debating with myself whether to weld the new bit to the lever or have it removable but it may as will be solid because all in one it attaches and detaches from the box in exactly the same way as the original .

Debating with yourself now Shayne is that a senior way of saying that you talk to yourselves

Glad now i never did find a shortshifter for my 80 because mission accomplished i reckon

Fitted wind deflectors. Started with rear passenger one, it went wrong but somehow fixed it. Then rear right one, better than the first one and finally finished job perfectly with front two deflectors. Received floor mats. Waiting to fit them. The thickness and design of deflectors was not the one I wanted but got it for it’s original Toyota stamp.

Spent a couple of hours removing old AHC hoses, accumulators and such like. Turns out removing the old globes and such isn't that straightforward.

A Present for Trevor 16479778534028534109174286582497.jpg16479779198248422044757239693221.jpga present for Trevor this particular item was saved from a skip by Patrick Patrick and in the first picture you will see authentic ring marks and a few blobs of spilt beer and if the club does not mind I will give this to Trevor in recognition of the work he does not the reason this is in the maintenance section is that I expertly removed four months of dust and left the ring and beer marks so in my eyes it got patina the sparkling bits were added by me also in the hope that the sparkley bits appeal to the female in Trevs life Mrs Trev hope I spelt her name right don't know whether to leave it like this or put it in discrete brown paper packaging so as not to get his neighbours worried and whispering behind moving curtains about his liking of John Smiths I do wonder why they put a horseshoe in their logo and it's only one so where is the other three and the horse as a matter of fact is that John Smiths way of saying that their beer is made out of a dead horse and three horseshoes and just how many pints can you get out of a dead liquidised horse and the blender must be some sort of BIG industrial unit just wondering if they leave the horse rider on as a bit of a sweetener you know to save on sugar anyway it's a present for Trevor for the organisation of these meets these very welcome meets

Changed the injectors for some refurbished ones I had 'in stock', been meaning to do it for ages, but as the trucks was running fine, havnt bothered.

The seating washers came out ok except for no 6 (would also be the least accessible one too), which needed the old extended easi out & slide hammer trick!

Will get these checked & refurbed at some point & bung em in Sams truck.

I was expecting the tips to look a bit more cruddy after 200k miles, havnt had chance to test run yet to see if I notice any difference as doing some other minor bits to her before a little upcoming road trip in a couple of months time.

Got the dreaded stuck on starter syndrome on Thursday evening. The starter had been perfect for the last 7 years but on this day it decided to keep the engine turning over when switched off. Fortunately I was at home and had only moved about 50 yards.
Quick with the 10mm spanner and power had been cut. Fri and Sat at a bike rally so set to this morning.
