In my part of Essex we got our first helping of snow yesterday and it caused chaos.
I spent over an hour freeing up a hill in my area, dragged 5 vehicles up the hill from a standing start, including a couple of loaded transits. I prefer towing the commercials as most of them have a front towing point to hand, loads of car drivers just didn't know where their front tow point was, and when they learned that the had to fit it 99% gave up on the idea of a tow and gave up on the hill. One guy spent 30 mins spinning his wheels and smacking the curb till he gave up and fitted the towing eye to his Astra.
I helped push a load, but I don't fancy that again, too much like hard work, especially when I realized that one car was full! I soon turfed them out to push their car

The look of disgust you get from 2wd vehicle drivers when you pass them is amusing, it soon changes when they realize your actually passing them to free the blockage, then everybody's your friend. The tow rope stayed on the back of the motor all day.
Today there wasn't much fresh snowfall, but all the side roads are ice rinks, interesting. The weather forecast says 10-20cm of snow overnight, and its already started, so we'll see what the morning brings.
Cheers,
Scott.
