    Picture loading help please.

I have computer with Windows 10. Back in the day I could plug my memory card in to the computer and options would come up as to where the pics were to go. Then when clicked on an option the pics would open and I could send them to "My Pictures". Now when I plug in my card nothing happens apart...

    Air Con Joints.

Back in 2015 I posted re rebuilding my air con system. Still going strong with still good pressure. I forgot to post a problem I found at that time. Where the pies join there is an o ring which makes the seal. The joint is held together with a bolt which forces two flat surfaces of each joint...

    1HD-FT engine rattle solved.

Started to hear a mechanical clatter from front of engine a few years ago. Now much worse in cold weather. Started engine today to investigate and it sounded like the noise was coming fro the AC pump or inside timing cover. I noticed that there was play in the loose run of the ac belt. Jerky...

    New car sales and features.

I see new car sales are very down. eg VW have closed 2 factories. What the hell is going on? Are people frightened of buying ICE cars and are they put off by the complexity and cost of repairing those ICE available? I see Ford and Toyota Landcruisers in USA are in big trouble with unreliable...

    Another water mod.

Fed up with getting covered with coolant every time I drain it so fitted a drain tap in the bottom hose. I had some thick walled brass tube in stock so cut it to length and then swaged the ends, drilled a hole to take a tap I had. Quick oxy acetylene and silver solder to make a sound job. Just a...

    1HD_FT Cooling pipes.

I have located a hose on the RHS of the engine low down at the front and going in to the block. I cannot see how the hose is attached to the block. I assume some sort of metal tube similar to the LHS heater pipe take off. Cannot see it in any parts diagram. Any help appreciated.

    Don't mix antifreezes.

This is what happened to me when I did not disconnect/flush the heater matrixes on changing fluids. Fortunately its just in the expansion tank for some weird reason. Its crumbly plastic stuff. I wondered why I had flat main hoses in the mornings. It had blocked the contraction valve in the rad...

    Sorry! Another water thread.

What temperature does the water run at in the block, being the hottest part of the system ? I am wondering if, in UK, we need a pressurised system for Sunday driving, or perhaps could fit a rad cap with a lower opening pressure? This would take pressure off 30 year old hoses. I've been toying...

    Cooling system pressure warning light.

Been paranoid after ByronJ lost his cooling water (and engine). I've been thinking of what happens in the cooling system and how to fix a low pressure warning light. When the water is subject to heat from the engine it expands and reaches a pressure equal to the pressure spring in the rad cap...
