    ENGINE REBUILD

If I remember correctly, you have to use a 1hz timing gear case, but you'd also need a tweaked 1hz pump. More info here: facebook.com/groups/478360412729487/ They are known as a 1hd-ftm If replacing the engine it's still makes more sense to upgrade it to the 1hd-fte... there's a bit more work...

If this was me, I'd be going for a 1hd-fte upgrade from the 100, maybe with a mechanical pump...while I'm in there!

4 80 series landcruiser Aluminium/Alloy wheels stolen in Newcastle upon Tyne

Nope, no camera's unfortunately. Looks like mine will have to be the first! They came early on a Monday morning probably between (sunrise) 4:45 am and 08:00. Plenty of light at that time and no police patrolling the streets. Has to be a 2 person job as the jack weighs quite a bit, you have to...

4 80 series landcruiser Aluminium/Alloy wheels stolen in Newcastle upon Tyne

Hey! Good to hear from a local 80 owner! There's not many up here. I've seen a Gold one in Jesmond and a Black 80 with black wheels in Gateshead and a couple others. What colour is your 80?

4 80 series landcruiser Aluminium/Alloy wheels stolen in Newcastle upon Tyne

Thanks guys, your response is overwhelming. If they wanted scrap metal there was plenty to be had in the yard, but they ignored all of it and went straight for the wheels. They've been in before about 6 months back, but took nothing then. ...they also took a DPF from a Volvo V70 too, but left...

4 80 series landcruiser Aluminium/Alloy wheels stolen in Newcastle upon Tyne

Hi Friends, Someone stole 4 80 series landcruiser Aluminium/Alloy wheels from my back yard early this morning (Monday 21st May). I believe they all have Michelen LTX tyres on them. They made off with my 3 Ton hydraulic jack and some other car related stuff too. I live in Newcastle upon Tyne...

At last - I have found the problem with my transmission.

I also had no noise issues just too much backlash in the drive train. Worn bushes, CV joints, drive flanges, could be all contributors to that though. About to take my front diff apart to check the bearings, as it's been running in grease instead of oil. Backlash on the front diff is 0.32mm...

Hi Chris, Don't know if you've seen this, but the following website is really useful for (Landcruiser) diff. rebuilds. http://www.gearinstalls.com/ Hope it helps - well done on the find! IQ

    Fuel filler pipe leaking ?

Hi Chris, Aye, that's the one. Sorry I meant cross-member not subframe. Do you by any chance have a body lift in already? How did you manoeuvre the pipe out then? I only had one jubilee clip at the rubber hose end (part # 77201A), The smaller pipe also connects to a rubber hose (part #...

    Fuel filler pipe leaking ?

Doing this job right now. Where on the body is it safe to use as a jacking point (be it with a length of wood to distribute the load)? How much space does the filler pipe need, I presume it comes across in an arc past the subframe... and then the pipe drops down slightly at the bend with the...

Bad ending to my holiday week

... yeh I have a couple due to go in soon, not many people opt for OEM CV's. HDK being the common choice, with good and bad experiences. For an overlanding rig I think it's a safe choice, let's hope the return matches the price!
