Hello,
A personal diagnostic makes me think my fuel pump has difficulties pumping
the fuel from the tank (pump has about 250K Km).
I'm contemplating adding a Facet inline fuel pump but don't know which one
to choose from:
The #40105 pumps 2,5 to 4,5psi (0,17-0,3bars) while the #40106 pumps 4 to
6psi (0,27-0,4bars).
I've been told a story where an inline pump was added to a HDJ80 (max
pressure unknown) and the injection pump soon started sipping then leaking
diesel. Some gaskets/seals were shot and the injection pump had to be
overhauled
(
On the other hand, the shop manual calls for, from memory, 0,25bar of fuel
pressure when tuning the injection pump on a bench.
So, I don't want to damage my old injection pump with too much pressure but
I want enough pressure to make it run properly with my current set-up
(basicaly stock) and have the potential to run future mild mods (modified
exhaust, intercooler, boost pressure, ...).
All advice/suggestion welcome, and of course hand-on experience!
Cheers,
Lio
