Hi

Could anyone advise on how easy/difficult it is to change input shaft on an H55F gearbox?

Might have found an affordable one but its off an HJ60... so I'd need to stick a 3B input shaft in.

Cost wise it works out considerably cheaper than getting my bust one rebuilt... just don't know if it's a big job or not. Cheers.

The thing is that if you change the input shaft in the 60 box then you would have to open up the 60 transmission and then as you're in there it would be wise to change the bearings with a rebuild kit....

Horses for courses it would end up with a rebuilt 60 box with the 3b input shaft.... same as rebuilding your existing box. Depending on what the problem is with it, i.e. if you have to buy separate gears spindles etc.. then the cost of the 60 box could be less than the cost of replacement parts to the existing one!

Food for thought mate!
