Hi All, new to the forum, so looking forward to picking up advice etc. I bought the '97 Lexus LX450 in January and hope to keep it forever. Have seen some chat on the forum which i think is about my car. Would appreciate any info re history / ownership etc. It's sort of gold, diesel auto. John

Welcome John, is it the one that Tani sold? If so I was interested in it before Tani bought it which I advised him to do. The reason I didn't jump on it was I already have a decent 24V auto but from what I gather it was a pretty solid 80 series. Some pics would be nice.

I think it probably is the same one - although I can't recall the name of the seller, it came from Kent. I've attached some photographs and as you can see, its in good shape. Have done a few things it needed (new leather) and a few minor mechanicals. Underneath its really clean and sailed through its MOT last week. We've had an 80 (petrol), a couple of 100's and a 200 and this one is the best by far. We use it for having fun on Dartmoor etc. It needs a few things, window rubbers, a roof rack foot is missing, and the side steps have some surface rust - but nothing serious. It's done a few miles (350,000 Km) but it's been very well looked after and drives perfectly. Does anyone know it's history?

Wow - love the interior - who did that for you (and how much?!?).

Thanks and welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. The seats were redone by West Country Trimmers in Bovey Tracey. They did the front seats and arm-rests and made carpets for approx £1,000. That included one of the seats having some foam replaced and the seat facings being perforated leather. They also supplied perforated leather for the steering wheel to be redone by www.controlcustomsuk.com who also did the gaiter (approx £120) at the same time. I couldn't recommend the two companies highly enough. I haven't done the back seats yet as difficult to justify given the leather doesn't show any wear.
Enjoying the forum, have been reading it since I bought the 80 in January - happy to be involved now.
