hi everyone im a newbie here just bought myself a LC80 4.5 on some tired springs and half worn standard size tyres, ive always lifted my 4x4s and put bigger rubbers on them in the past, i dont think ill be doing many hardcore offroadings anymore, mostly some greenlanings and curises to europe, so i would like to ask if anyone got some pics of this setup (as title), ive had ironman +2 springs and shocks on my patrol shortie the ride comfort is not as expected, rough and solid which i wouldnt want that on my LC, and im looking for some true 33" rubbers as those km2 285 are so under sized, more like 31.5 fitted which was quite a disappointment. thanks very much and im waiting for some LC porn desparately. :icon-biggrin:

Generally BFG and Cooper come out as described size wise. Their 255.85.16 hoops are most definitely 33"

Personally I wouldn't buy the Milner springs. But neither would I line the pockets of Ironman again. Done it twice and whilst the ride very good on the 80 in my opinion the finish is appalling and their interest in you telling the so is zero. Pedders seem to be favoured and there are quite a few more import opportunities from Oz at the minute for some others.

thanks for reply chris, ive had bfg mts and ats and they are all under sized for some reason, there are also mixed feedbacks from people who own different 4x4s fitted milner springs, mostly good (money vs quality and longevity), not heard of anything bad so far, when there are quite a few bad things about pedders kits in the aussie nissan patrol community, its hard to decide what to go for.

Well the problem is that when you ask for advice, what you usually get is opinion. You have to filter that and make your own decisions. I have had Milner springs and they were dreadful. I took one set back and rolled them across the counter. I got a new set without having to say a word. They are crude springs made to a price rather than to performance.

Tyres, well, it all depends what size you THINK they should come out at. If you believe a 285.70.16 should be 44" and it's not. who's wrong? I think experience on here has shown that expectations of BFG have been met re sizes. It depends on which tyre size calculator you use I suppose. I use this one .

BTW, I like the lights in your 80 bumper. Did you out those in?

just for discussion, i dont judge a tyre size on what i believe but on basic maths, 285mm x .75 x 2 + 16 inches wheel size, which dont quite equal to the actual fitted size on the truck on the road, to be its undersized. nope those hella spots come with the truck, still at stage of exploring on her at the moment, been on diesel for years, but im loving her, just worked out the mpg since i got her about a month ago, 11.5mpg glad im on gas.

Iirc Carl (red october) has 285/75's on his on stock ride height.
All my pics with the 33's are with a lift.

That's mine with 255/85r16 which measure 33". It's lifted about 2.5"

Interesting. Don't think I have seen an 80 with spots before.

Back to the tyres, I don't get 285.75.16 to be 33" to start with. Just a shade over 32"

thats a beauty mate, i did consider 255 when i was shopping for a set of rubbers for my patrol, but i got a better deal for a set of 285, and ur 2.5" is on the pedders?

This is mine with 255/85/16 BFG's which measure 33". It's lifted about 3"

And spots, although they can't be seen in this pic but they are there.

thats exactly what i mean by not judging on what i believe, 285 75 16 = 32.83 inch but they are more like 31.5 fitted on 32psi

I got the 255's as they were cheap and didn't want to always run the 35's. Only issue I find with the 255's is they can break traction easily in the wet with the 4.5!
yeah I'm on pedders kit. Shocks, springs plus 20 mm spacers (bit more clearance for the 35's) and the only issue I've had was the rear springs, all the paint fell off where the fronts looked brand new, a couple of e mails and had a new pair of springs under warranty.

Chas, you have an ARB bumper on yours, how does that equate to having spots in the standard bumper? I have KCs on mine. But that's a winch bumper too. Look at the second picture again, Chap.

Wilc, well if you worked them out to be 32.83 then don't be surprised if they aren't 33", sure 31. something is short of that, but they were never going to be 33 were they. I'd stick a bit more air in until the sidewalls stop moving. Then measure it.

Ah! I thought you were referring to the black 80, and it's a TJM winch bumper.
