Romania 2017 - Comarnic Visit

The forecast is steady for the weekend too, just to rub it in a bit more...

I washed the truck before leaving ....

But it's already covered in dust from the sand...

I think I can hear the bodies sizzling from here. Must be hell for you Clive.

:-)

 Not quite, but it helps.

We're back in our room after having some lunch, and it's too bloody hot!

Time for a bit of a kip I think....

Don't know if you've seen the thread but Dave in Spain was suggesting using the Oral Rehydration Salts where it's so hot, alongside plenty of water.

Bugger , it sort of almost nearly stopped raining here once or twice in the past couple of weeks so its going to be bolt the wheels on and go for me once again , and i've got sod all done .

At least it dries up nice and quick in the howling gale Shayne.

Local weather says worst August in 4 years , its a conspiracy i tell ya :angry-screaming:

Good job we won't be here for two weeks of it then and hope we can bring back some of the continental sunshine.

Out of curiosity, as I've not changed any money up. How much wedge should I take? I'm assuming, though possibly not cost effective, that there will be a hole in the wall. I was just thinking for the campsites and any tolls etc.

I'm just gonna get about £200 in Euros, all my fuel costs will be on my Post Office credit card (no charges for foreign transactions) if I need any more I'll use an ATM

I dunno about the journey, but I'd wait till you get here to get your Romanian lei.

I think it's cost effective to just draw it from an ATM as you need it. Most places take the usual cards, supermarkets and fuel stations etc.

Trouble is you get charged on the credit card for withdrawing cash.

Mmmm, I don't use a credit card, only a debit card.

Anyway, a phonecall to your bank should answer your questions about the price. I don't even know whether lei can be bought in the U.K.

Euros in Romania are not much use to you, only lei is legal tender here. There are exchanges, so rather than buy euros, bring your £ here and change them at the exchange. You'll pay the exchange rate commission fee, but avoid the ATM withdrawal fee.

I'm paid in lei now, so I don't have to worry about these things.

Lei is available in the U.K. Clive, Lynn looked it up. We would be able to use a debit card but the charges are steep.

Just what I was thinking. We have a zero commission source locally, even Lynn's bank used to send people there!

They make their money on the rate Clive. Sell for £10, buy for £8 that sort of thing.

YYY
