TLC HJ61 total reconditioning

I went on a trip to the former US Clark Air Base in Angeles city. I came across a canvass used for soft tops in military vehicles. I was thinking of using this for the door and side panels instead of ordinary vinyl which is glossy. With a mix of pine wood.

All for the reason in taking the whole body apart is to check for damage. Once we have identified these, we clean and repaint them to look like and good as brand new. Just like the original.

All parts are are repainted to make them look brand new as the original. Painstakingly one by one, and takes a lot of time.

But doing these bits and pieces is really where the project is focused entirely. Patience is the name of the game.

I just saw the news. It is a big one. Could become a super typhoon. In past experiences, in where I live, seldom do we get hit by storm. I remember that super typhoon Yolanda, we hardly felt it and thanks to God. Yup, better be prepared than be sorry.

Good luck Oding. Hope it misses you. [emoji52]

This just came in from the USA with a big disappointment.

A real bummer. I suspect an intentional damage send.

Hate it when things like that happen. It has so many knock on effects, never mind the hassle getting them exchanged.

Feel for you there Oding [emoji20]

Jeez, why couldn't they have put them in a tube or something to protect them, I can't imagine anything that prone to damage surviving shipping.

Idiots....

It was actually in a tube. I just can't understand how it got the dent.

Aha, my apologies to the lad or lass packing the tubes then, not an idiot at all, apart from them loading kinked seals into the tube... :icon-rolleyes::?

The final top coat has been applied. The parts are now looking good.

The only off color is red. This will be stuck on the embossed emblem attached to the grill.

Fitted sticker to the emblem. Not perfect but 90% satisfied. Could have been better, but the graphic artist is asking for time to adjust and configure the plotter.
